HDTV

Well I finally broke down and got a 46" Sharp Aquos. I love it. I don't have cable or satellite but I now can start my blu-ray movie collection. I've had a PS3 so I have a player. Of course the games. Yeah, I enjoy a little action/adventure in the gaming world. I recently played and completed Forces Unleashed and Fable 2. Both were fun. I think I'll revisit Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty 4 in Hi-Def. I may even try out Grand Theft Auto and the other games I already own. Of course Halo rocks on it. I have two Xbox 360's and one contracted the red ring of death. Freak'n Microsoft uses a system for their shipping that doesn't recognize my address as a valid address. Hello?! I've been living here all my life. So I emailed customer support and they said to do this, which is the process I just went through. So one is still working but Microsoft is starting to piss me off. Anyways, Melissa bought Planet Earth, a BBC series on earth. It's sweet. You can see the grains of sand on the beach shots and the twinkling reflection of the sun in the snow shots. Very nice!

Superman?

I have this black T-shirt with the Superman "S" on it. I wore it a few weeks ago and my sister Melissa and I went to the grocery store. We walked around and bought all our crap and we were waiting in line. An elderly lady (I may be closing in on mid 30's, but 50ish is still old to me) was in line behind us with only an armful of goods while we had a cart full. I politely invited her to go ahead and step ahead of us. She said thanks and seemed to be a really sweet old lady. She saw the Superman shirt and went on and on about me being Superman. She did it so much that the sweetness fed into my bitterness. I even caught myself thinking "Maybe I shouldn't have let you cut in line." So the cashier jumps on the Superman bandwagon and went on and on. I flashed a couple courtesy smiles and threw out a couple courtesy laughs but just happy to get the hell out of there. So here we are a few weeks later. I had my Superman shirt on once again. I was at the post office. In line ahead of me were three old people. Two grandmas and one grandpa. It's always the old people. I happen to somewhat know the grandmas. One caught eye and so I smiled and said "Hi". And off we go... Superman this and Superman that.... Grandpa was all getting into it too. Then I notice at the counter is another lady I know. With her is her little boy, who also I know. I saw him playing with the little toy thing they have there. Now this is a kid I actually like, there are only a small handful of those. He saw me and ran to his mom which he's done before, usually at his house when I go to visit. "Mom. Mom. Garret.", he would say pointing at me. So he reaches his mom "Mom. Mom. Superman." I was thinking "No, it's not stupid Superman, it's Garret." Ha ha. So as I waited in line she got finished with her business we said our Hellos and the little boy was asking his mom if I really was Superman. So it's cute when little kids I like say it but annoying as hell when the elderly do. So should I suck it up and enjoy it the Superman attention or should I burn the shirt?

Jiggling

So a few months ago I bought a Chi Machine. You lie down on your back on the floor and place your ankle on the little holders on the Chi Machine. When you turn it on it moves back and forth causing your legs to wiggle side to side as though you were a fish swimming. It claims to have all kinds of benefits. I just like the way it makes me feel. After using it for a couple days, my whole body feels like it's smiling is how I would describe it. After a 15 minute session the machine stops and your body tingles. It feels as though your floating or gentle falling. Pretty cool. Because it wiggles you we named the process "Jiggling". Like I'm going to jiggle tonight before I got to bed. Pretty fun.

Soap Creek

Over the weekend we went hiking down Soap Creek. It was the best hike I've been on for years. It was new so it was exploring and there were a couple challenging areas as well which brings in some fun. It is about a 4.5 miles hike to the Colorado River (9 miles round trip) in Marble Canyon. Pretty much the end of the canyons in Marble Canyon fall into Grand Canyon National Park boundaries. So I can say... "Yeah, I hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon." Ha ha! I will do it again. It has boulder hopping, which I rather enjoy, both going down and coming up. It was a full day trip and I hear great fishing at the river from multiple sources, but I don't fish so that's not much of an incentive for me. I was exhausted and sore afterwards but it was well worth it.

Rainbow Bridge

I went to Rainbow Bridge on a boat tour with Lake Powell Resorts. It is a pretty nice tour. I could have used better travel company but it was still fun. I don't mean the actual person in my party but the other parties on board. I've done plenty of tours and been around some pretty cool groups. This one however was far from being one of those. Lake Powell is beautiful, though I personally enjoy it more from the air.

Navajo Generating Station Tour

Well today I took and hour and a half off at work to go tour the power plant. Very cool! And surprisingly, very clean. Mr Lamont Haycock took Margy and I on an executive VIP private tour. I kept thinking I want to own an abandoned power plant. As we walked and looked of different things I noticed all the places you can hide. A great place to play laser tag. I refuse to paintball but I'm sure it would great for that too. Not at my abandoned power plant. I also thought of Halo. Imagining aliens across the way. Hopefully not that damn flood though. I will say I knew it was out there, I just didn't know how cool it is out there.

Been Caught Boozing???

So about a year ago my boss, Karlyn Bunting, and I went on a film trip on Grand Canyon Helicopters. They are sweet helicopters, the luxury birds of the sister companies. We went to film and take pictures of the helicopters so we jumped on a tour to the bottom of the Canyon at the West Rim from Las Vegas. The Vegas filming was an experience. We got left on ramp without security badges. Our freak'n escort left us. So we caught a ride in a utility truck or van. It had some whore poster in the back, yeah, nice decor in a company vehicle. The ride to the Canyon was awesome. It was a tour that flew from Vegas to the West Rim lands at the bottom. The pilot serves champagne, water, cheese, and fruit and such. We always have a little fun on these trips so we MAY have indulged a little. We got some pictures and such. We get back and burn all the pictures and video to DVDs and send it off the Grand Canyon Helicopters. So where am I going with this. I was checking out their website to compare and see how they worded descriptions of a certain tour and up in the banner, random selected pictures, I see me hanging out with a champagne bottle. Ha ha! Check out the website. It's in the random selected picture in the banner on the left. It took me like 20 times refreshing to finally see it again.

Cruising

Well I went for a ride tonight. The first ride I've been on for three weeks due to jack'n up my back. It felt so good. There is a freedom with riding that is so much fun. I'll hopefully be able to return to the Thursday night rides this week. I'm so excited. Of course this picture isn't from tonight but was from the ride to Fish Lake we did earlier this summer.

Why BrewRider?

So why BrewRider? Well, let me tell you. It starts with my obsession with Mountain Dew. I love that stuff. Is it the caffeine that got me to like the taste or is the taste that got me hooked on the caffeine? That's my chicken or the egg scenario. Which ever it is, I love that tasty beverage. Over time Mountain Dew got the nickname of Brew. Yeah, everything gets a nickname. You may be surprised at what I call some of my friends behind their backs. Ha ha! My sister and I would take drives when we were bored. We would get a Brew and cruise around listening to our favorite music, thus the BrewRide was born. Now the BrewRide has kept me sane and out of jail. There was a time in our lives where we lived with someone we strongly disliked. Just the sight of this person infuriated me. So we would take off and go on BrewRides and chill and vent. It kept me sane because I had some relief through venting and out of jail because if I didn't vent I would have beat the crap out of said person. So going on BrewRides, that makes me a BrewRider. Even today, I continue to participate in BrewRides. I guess that's my therapy. Ha ha!

Both Sides of Feline Society...

So I now have 4 cats roaming around at my house. Four months ago I got a call from my sister's cat. Apparently she thought I was KPS. You see there was this cat of questionable moral values. She was a young teenage mother cat. She ended up moving in with Shalice (sister's cat) because there was a pretty reliable food source. Shalice got tired of having this skank cat and her young leaching off her chow stash. She called me, the KPS -Kitten Protective Services, and I had to go and confiscate the little brats. That's another story for another time. Anyways, turns out two trailer trash alley cats - Onslow and Ofelia - have come to my house. Today my two new dependants arrived. Complete opposites. Aristocats. Pure bred Persians. A friend of the family recently had a baby and the the youngster has allergies so they had to find a good home for Carlos and Mimi. Yes, I run a good home. So now they are getting to know each other but it turns out the street cats act more stuck up then the full-bloods. I guess they'll just have to learn to get along.

Let's get started!

Well... here we go. It's been a while coming but I finally decided to sit my butt down and get something started. How do you like the header? Ha ha. I will see where this goes. I've already been slacking on my website. I figure if you're tinkering with HTML all day, why would you want to do it at home. I enjoy keeping up on some peoples blogs and so hopefully I can keep them entertained as much as theirs have me. So I will add more later but for now I'm going to leave it at that.
